Zion

My eyes but see
what lies in view.
Or is that the lie?
The clouded hue.

My ears do hear
but only sound.
Tis the heart,
Where music's found?

Amidst the horrors
and the noise
lie quiet thoughts
Humbled poise.

A prayer is born.
And, is this where?
In a thought
That says I care.

In a thought
about True Grace.
Of what is Life
but just a face.

A face of many
ups and downs.
Or, really jewels
in many crowns?

So the best
call to above
Lies simply in
A heart of love.

Ask for nothing
and you will be
Only thankful, for
what you see.

What you need
Will be done.
And in the end
All wars are won .

I wish to dedicate this poem to my Sister in the blood of the People.
Winyan Kangi Mahpiya, Crow Cloud Woman, to me, Kangisapa.  Wa'ste kola.
Walk in Beauty

I took this picture in July of  2001 at Zion National Park in Utah.

Truly a place of Wonder.  The accompanying music is from Bocelli. Kangi, the drums are for you.
