Maine - and Other - Songs of the Soul (Paperback)
AMBER RETURNS TO MAINE: Susan Haley is a five star author of Rainy Day People
and now she has come out with a new book that is already turning heads and
promises to become a best seller. Amber Returns To Maine and Other Songs of the
Soul is the title of her new book. She is compassionate about the earth and the
preservation of all its creatures, especially the sea. "It's the sea at night
that lures its mystery," she say's. She believes the sea sings its song if we
will but listen like the dolphins listen as they arc up and out of the water and
bow to the sun. Her poem,The Circus Is Coming to Town brought tears to my eyes. She very cleverly lets you step into this complacent forest, where the animals are nesting with their families when suddenly there is the noise of machines and the shouting of men; earthmovers with bulldozers take over the forest, the wolves, the raccoons, the bunnies all run for shelter. Susan dramatically makes us see what we are doing to this planet earth. Her beloved rainbows are a signature for her,and they seem to gravitate in her direction. She has a love of speed and likes to drive her Eclipse Spyder to the max with the top up and the wind snapping her dark hair around her face as she did in her novel,Rainy Day People.I LOVED the book, dear Susan.
