Deer and Lilacs

Always
loved lilacs, the deep purple ones. Seems they carried the very essence of
scent itself. I envision a deer back when the wood was yet silent; life
just beginning and simple. The timid deer, providing the eyes to see and
the heart for Nature's quest for an evolution beyond simple blossoms.
Eyes to absorb the quaint purple beauty, the quest to be aware of it. Now
the elegant creature languishes for only a moment, nose quivering and pushing
tiny rivulets in the waves of scented air. She breathes in, slowly, the essence
of what she once was, and will be again. Then, she ambles sadly, into the
noise . . . . |
